10, 12 or 15 days?

A good itinerary does not fill every day. It gives each region time to become a memory.

Sri Lanka can be discovered on tour, but it cannot be collected. Each stage changes scenery: ancient cities, plantations, jungle, then ocean. The question is not how many points you can place on a map. The question is how many regions you will actually have time to live in.

The right rhythm

Three durations, three ways to travel

10 days

A first meeting, without running

In ten days, a very precise circuit links the cultural triangle, the Highlands and the coast best suited to your month of departure. It's enough to see the great contrasts of the island, provided you agree to leave aside part of the country. The journey gains in calm what it loses in kilometers.

12 days

The format that lets you breathe

Twelve days gives space. You can keep the big stages, take the train in the Highlands, add a safari or an extra night in a hotel chosen for yourself. This is often the best balance for a first discovery that doesn't feel like a race.

15 days

Choose slow, or one more region

At fifteen days, two approaches are defended. The first is to live longer in the regions already chosen. The second opens an additional door: the North, a wilder coast, the Knuckles or more nature. The choice depends on your desires and the season, never on the desire to tick one more box.

Frequently asked questions

Answers worth keeping before you leave.

Are 10 days enough to visit Sri Lanka?

Yes, if we focus on three coherent regions and a single coast. In 10 days, the challenge is not to see everything: it is to connect culture, landscapes and a few nights by the ocean without making each day a transfer.

How many nights to plan in the Highlands?

Two nights are a comfortable minimum to enjoy the train, a ride and the landscape. With 12 or 15 days, three nights allow you to slow down and avoid crossing the Highlands without experiencing them.

Do you have to go all the way around the island?

Not necessarily. Sri Lanka is compact on a map, but travel takes time. A successful circuit chooses the regions which correspond according to the season and leaves real nights there.

Can we include the train from Kandy to Ella?

Yes, it’s a nice interlude in a circuit. You have to integrate it into the rhythm of the trip, anticipate tickets when necessary and organize the luggage as well as the rest of the journey.
